Stitches of Love

The Stitches of Love group meets the first Saturday of every month from 9:00 am until noon. We make small fabric stuffed bears to send to children who need a reason to smile. They are not fancy, but each pattern cut, each bear assembled, is made with much love and a desire to help small children who are gong through some type of trauma in the ER at the hospital, or in radiology.

This group also places these bears in the Samaritan’s Purse boxes that members of our church send all over the world. The group was contacted several years ago by Dimmitt Regional Hospital in extreme South Texas to supply them with bears for the children who come through their ER as well.

The group has received acknowledgment from children and parents from as far away as California and deep South Texas. What began as a small group meeting to help children in Marshall get through some trying times, has turned into a God filled ministry that reaches around the world. Each bear is also prayed over and sealed with a tag that states it is from Stitches of Love along with our telephone number so that they know where this gesture of love comes from: some of God’s people at Port Caddo Baptist Church.
